Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2¼ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Simple steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars until light. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  3. Stir in the flour and baking soda, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Scoop rounded tablespoons onto the sheets, leaving room to spread.
  5. Bake 10–12 minutes, until the edges are golden. Let them rest before moving.

Grandma's classic

Grandma's Classic Blueberry Pie

A deep-blue, jammy filling tucked under a crisp crust. Best served with a quiet cup of coffee.

Ingredients

  • 2 pie crusts, homemade or ready-made
  • 6 cups fresh blueberries
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Simple steps

  1. Heat the oven to 425°F. Fit one crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Gently stir berries with sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
  3. Pour into the crust and dot with butter. Add the top crust and make a few small vents.
  4. Bake 15 minutes, then reduce the oven to 375°F and bake 40–45 minutes more.
  5. Cool until the filling is settled. Slice and enjoy.
